The Circulation Department issues library cards, maintain borrower records, and accepts payments of fines and fees. They also handle a variety of other tasks, including renewal of items, Internet registration and voter registration.

Pay Fines

  • Check Acceptance
    To write a check to pay your fines/fees:
    • You must be a registered card holder.
    • The address on the check must match the address in our files.
    • The check must be numbered over #300
    • The amount written must match the amount in numbers.
    • We do not accept checks for less than $5.00
    • The driver's license number must be written on the check.
    • The library card number must be written on the check.
    • If the check writer does not have a driver's license or State ID, we are unable to accept the check.
    • If you are unable to meet these criteria, you may use E-Pay (see below.)

What is the loan period for library materials?

All circulating library material may be checked out for two weeks (14 days) at no charge with the following exceptions:

Feature film DVDs 3 days ($1.00 fee)
Feature film (VHS) videos, Non-fiction videos & DVDs 14 days ($1.00 fee)
Children's feature film DVDs 3 days ($1.00 fee)
Children's feature film (VHS) videos, non-fiction videos & DVDs 14 days ($1.00 fee)

Are there limits to how much I may check out?

Only 5 items of the following formats may be checked out at one time:

DVD’s / Videos / Magazines / Audio Books /

Compact Discs

There is a limit of 20 items for books.

Limits should be remembered when placing requests for multiple items.


What are the fines for overdue materials?

Books 10˘ per day
Magazines and pamphlets 10˘ per day
Video tapes & DVDs $1.00 per day
Compact discs 25˘ per day
Audio cassettes &
Talking books
25˘ per day

Overdue fines are not charged for days when the library is closed. A book return is located to the right of the Indiana Avenue entrance.

May I renew my items?

Most material may be renewed for an additional loan period. Reserved materials and Inter-Library Loan materials may not be renewed.

Telephone renewals may be made by calling the library.  You must have the bar code numbers for the items or your library card number when you call.  You can also renew many items online, learn how by logging into your borrower account, viewing your checked out items, clicking the checkbox for items you wish to renew, then click "renew." Renewed items will display the new due date.
