Women" Suffrage Pictures, 1850-1920 These
thirty-eight pictures include individual portraits,
photographs of suffrage parades, picketing
suffragists, an anti-suffrage display, and cartoons. The

History Project
Official site of the National Women's History Project, a non-profit
corporation which was founded in 1980 and established National
Women's History Month that same year. The NWHP also maintains a
clearinghouse of U.S. women's history information, coordinates the
Women's History Network, conducts in-service training for school
teachers, and issues a seasonal catalog of women's history posters,
books, and other materials.

History Superb site from "Encyclopedia Britannica". Contains articles on

- Women in Military Service Choose the History and Collections area for History of Women In
the Military. This site has several articles on the role of women in the U.S.
military from the Revolution on, including essays on Black,
Asian-American, and Native American women in the armed forces; a
narrative of the struggle for racial equality by Army veterans Sarah
Louise Keys and her attorney, Dovey Johnson Roundtree; and an article on

The IWPR is a public policy research organization which focuses on
public policy issues of importance to women and their families.
Areas of research include poverty and welfare, employment and

The Ms. Foundation supports the leadership efforts of women and
girls through grantmaking, training opportunities, and public
