NOTICE: An important message from the IRS about the tax forms and free options available to file your taxes.Usually beginning in late-January or early February, limited 1040-series Federal tax forms are available at the library. Usually beginning in February the Library receives limited Illinois tax forms. We encourage patrons to download and print the forms they need using the convenient links below. The Library also has other resources, such as privately published tax guides and books with detailed instructions such as J.K. Lasser's Your Income Tax, (two copies available for checkout, one copy in Reference.) The current edition lists the year you file the return, i.e. 2011 edition refers to tax year Jan 1, 2010-Dec. 31, 2010. Many Federal and State tax forms can be downloaded on the internet. (see links below) We do not receive multiple copies of every form. You may need to photocopy forms you need. Photocopies are 10 cents per page. You may also download and print forms you need. Internet access card required. (Users over age 18 with a photo ID may use one of our temporary cards.) Self-printed forms are 10 cents per page. W-2, 1099 and other informational forms used in filling out personal income tax forms must be obtained from the appropriate employer, bank, or financial consultant. For employers or institutions looking for blank copies of these forms, they can be ordered from the IRS (1-800-TAX-FORM), and purchased through office supply stores.
